Sporadic-ness

Lotsa stuff going on out in the suburbs lately. I plan to do more than just post letters from the VPC (see Robb excellent post concerning that group).

Upcoming posts will include:

• Finding and purchasing the elusive, affordable Remington 870 on Gunbroker.
• Finding and using the elusive, affordable outdoor range in the Charlotte, NC area
• Obtaining the long-awaited SC CWP.
• My recent purchase of a "carry vest" that actually doesn't scream "This guy has a gun!".

• Amazon seems to have finally noticed that people are buying a lot of preparation-related products. I'll post some comparisons between the online giant and the smaller operations that I have been using to stock up on essentials.

Readings...

Amazon recently delivered the SAS Survival Handbook, Revised Edition by John "Lofty" Wiseman.

It comes highly recommended from people who recommend such things.

2 chapters in so far.  Wiseman spends a lot of time on knives. He should, of course.

Soon I'll post my review of this book as well as When All Hell Breaks Loose by Cory Lundin, which answers a lot of the same questions from a similar mindset - albeit with a very different delivery.

Off to sharpen the knives now.
