Please do not vote to confirm Judge Sonya Sotamayor. In the 2004 case United States v. Sanchez-Villar, Judge Sotomayor stated "the right to possess a gun is clearly not a fundamental right." That's enough for me and my friends, family and co-workers.

Also - thank you for supporting the Thune-Vitter amendment. CCW licensees are among the most law abiding segments of society. By very nature of the application process, compliance with the law is a prerequisite for obtaining a license. Individuals with a criminal history couldn't get one even if they were so inclined to do so. Revocation rates are very low, and crime rates in general (not just firearms violations) are extremely low. CCW permit holders are not now, have never been, and will never be the problem. However, they can be part of the solution to the problem.
